Frequently Asked Questions

We’re ready to answer any questions that you may have about the Ark. But take a look through these Frequently Asked Questions first for answers to some of the basic questions.

How do I reserve the Ark?

Everything is now done through our website. Go to the Reservations form and fill out the form with your requested dates. Once approved, you will receive an invoice and rental agreement. Once you agree to it, you will be given the option to pay half the total up front to lock in your dates. You can use either credit card or echeck, and it can all be done on our website.

Do you rent the cabins separately?

No. You rent it, you get it all. We are not set up as a bed and breakfast. You will have the whole facility to yourself.

Are check in/out times firm?

Usually. It depends on whether there is a group checking out right before you arrive and whether there is a group checking in immediately after you. We are as flexible as the schedule allows. Contact property manager Julie to find out about check in/out flexibility.

What’s the parking situation?

While we have room for many vehicles at the Ark, we do have some restrictions on parking. As long as you have less than about 25 vehicles, we should be ok. There is a garage attached to the main house where one vehicle can be parked. There is a circle driveway behind the small cabin where 4-5 vehicles can be parked. The rest can be parked in the large circle lower lot next to the volleyball field with the driveway remaining clear and able to be used to drop off food/luggage/people but remaining free of vehicles (Emergency vehicles need a clear driveway to access the house during emergencies). There is no parking allowed on the street or on grass anywhere on the property.

Can I have a wedding at the Ark?

Typically, the answer is no, as it brings a lot of people to the property and thereby creates too much noise. However, the land below our pool is Corps of Engineers property that can be used for ceremonies if it is very small. Small and quiet weddings may be ok.

What kind of coffee maker do you have at the Ark?

We have both a regular coffee maker (bring ground coffee) and a Keurig (bring K-cups).

Do you provide off season rates or special rates for churches or 501c3s?

Possibly. Please contact us to discuss your situation.

Do the boats and jet skis come with the rental?

For insurance and liability reasons, we do not provide any watercraft or lake toys. CaptainWatersports.com might be able to provide you with boats and jet skis, as well as surf lessons if interested in that. Check out arkonlakelanier.com/attractions/marinas for more info.

Who do I call during my stay if I have a question about something?

Julie Narvil will be your host and property manager at the Ark during your stay. Once you have arrived on the property, she will stop by to introduce herself and make sure you have everything you need. Any questions or concerns about the house or grounds can be directed to her. She should be your first call for anything you need.

You can contact Julie by phone or text at 770-633-7595 or email julie@arkonlakelanier.com.

Can I rent for one or two nights?

Not normally. Fill out the form with any special requests and we’ll get back to you.

We typically reserve the months of June and July for “full week” renters, Saturday to Saturday, but occasionally we do have less than a week available, so please ask us if you are looking for less than a week in the summer, or fewer than 3 nights outside of June and July. We try to accommodate when we can.

Do you provide toilet paper, etc?

We provide “starter” toilet paper, trash bags, paper towels, etc. You need to bring your own to use once the starter amounts run out.

Do you provide firewood?

Yes, there is firewood behind the little cabin that is available for your use.

What is your sleeping capacity?

Though we can sleep forty-five people in beds, that is maxing out the facility. There are ten rooms with king or queen beds and then bunk rooms to fill in the rest. A comfortable retreat may have 25-40 guests.

Can I host a loud event?

We are in a neighborhood and need to be respectful of our neighbors. No bands, DJs, outside speakers, microphones, other amplification equipment, or dance parties are allowed. Normal crowd noise is ok. Kids running around and having a good time is fine. You’d be crossing the line if you had super loud music blaring or late night noise after 11.

We do have a Sonos sound system (indoor and outdoor) that can be used for soft background music.

Do you supply life vests?

While there are some life vests on property, we don’t typically supply these. We have tried to in the past but they disappear weekly. Please stop by Walmart, Costco, Sam’s Club or a sporting goods store to get life vests that perfectly fit you and your children. If you rent any watercraft from one of the vendors, life vests are typically included.

Do you provide pool and lake toys and floats?

No. While there may be some at the Ark that you can use, please stop by Walmart, Costco, Sam’s Club or a sporting goods store and get whatever you want for your family to use.

What games do you have at the Ark?

Indoors we have ping pong, billiards and foosball. Outside we have volleyball, corn hole, tether ball, Gaga ball, basketball and frisbee golf (please bring your own frisbee discs). We have a sports locker full of other yard games and stocked with volleyballs, which can also be used for the Gaga pit. We also provide the ping pong paddles and balls, foosballs, etc.

Do you have a workout room?

Yes, we have just turned one of our garages into a workout room with free weights, dumbbells, exercise bike, jump rope and treadmill.
